Francisella tularensis Genotyping
The figure below shows hybridization results for three Francisella tularensis subspecies hybridized to a microarray containing approximately 240,000 bases of DNA sequence that are unique to F. tularensis.
The panel on the left shows the hybridization intensity of ~6,000 DNA sequences specific for F. tularensis. The grey dots in the center are ~5,000 consensus F. tularensis sequences that confirm that each of the three samples contain F. tularensis DNA. In the panel on the right, the consensus sequences were removed to highlight sequences that discriminate between different subspecies. Each spot represents the hybridization intensity for a particular sequence when hybridized with DNA from F. tularensis Live Vaccine Strain (LVS) and two other F. tularensis subspecies.
